Spring is coming and so is my new book

My books are meant as sweet escapes where the passionate, yet tender love is undeniable.

It’s coming! Finally! My next release is dropping May 12!

Here are the details about Rachael and Todd’s love story:

Finding Our Perfect

Book 5 in the Finding Happiness in Harmony series – Can be read as standalone however, reader will get more out of reading the books in order.

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Tropes: Small Town, forced proximity, teacher/student (it's also slow burn, HEA)

Tagline: Story of taking risks and trying again.

Blurb:

Carefree Todd Sherman hasn’t been serious about a woman for years, until a brunette beauty with a thousand-watt smile crosses his path. Taking her college class seems like a great idea until one night he gives her a ride home and her lack of response to his admission leaves him retreating.

With a tarnished reputation and current status as her student, Todd Sherman doesn’t stand a chance with the gorgeous American Sign Language teacher. Her sweet, caring ways make him want to abandon his bachelor lifestyle for a real relationship. A failed attempt at asking Rachael Levans out results in a one-eighty from the former cocksure civil engineer. Now he buries himself in work, living life on autopilot.

Rachael isn’t prepared for the romantic interest from a suave and sexy friend turned student. Unlucky in love, her nerves soar whenever he’s near making her revert to old speech tricks to mask a stutter. His heart the size of Texas and old fashioned, gentlemanly manners draw her in and tempt her to cast aside her fears.

After circumstances force them to share a tent, will the small town of Harmony, Texas witness a broken hero and heroine come perfectly together through self-healing?

Can you tell I’m very excited to share Rachael and Todd’s story? I finished writing it in December and received beta reader feedback in January. They were awesome and really pushed me to make this my best novel yet. What I loved about their feedback: it was both complementary and constructive.

If you are curious, here are some of my beta readers comments:

  • Not enough building – trust came too soon and too easy for both of them, especially considering their pasts.

  • You knocked this one out of the park with Rachael’s friends and with Todd’s family.

  • That’s hysterical! And tells us so much, I love it!

  • This sentence doesn’t sound like a conversation to me. It sounds like narration or like a poem or a line from a Shakespearean tragedy. It’s too formal

  • We have learned that stuttering surfaces when she is nervous or upset, and later we learn excited. This sounds realistic to me. Your story tells us some basic truths about stuttering and shows us that it is not an obstacle for R or her friends. That is a very positive and supportive stance. And I’ve heard the singing trick, so I know that to be true. So I definitely trust that you did your research

  • This seems like an awkward move to me.

  • And I think they both should really still be very nervous and tentative.

  • swoon-worthy and possibly a quote/teaser

  • For me, this is too long. Either break up into to at Riverbend. or delete the part about being the next town over, unless this is important in the future.

  • This reply sounds pretty noncommittal. It could easily be seen as a “I might be blowing you off” line. I suggest rewriting her reply to make her sound more committed.

  • Just checking in for a minute here. I’m not feeling right about her, her boldness is surprising me.

  • Stacey I loved Rachel and Todd's story. You did an amazing job with her stuttering and I loved the way you had her singing. She only stutters when she is nervous.

  • The best two pages I have read in a long time. And remember - I read every day all day, it’s my job and my hobby. In fact, I’m gonna go read those again

My editor and I worked hard this past month polishing the manuscript and now it’s ready for ARC readers. If you are interested in reading an Advanced Review Copy, email me back and let me know. It will be sent out on April 7.

As always, thank you for being here and your support. You guys are the best!

Xoxo,

Stacey
